Recensie Hot Chip

Hot

British electronic music band Hot Chip has been active since 2000. Although they started out with years of self-releasing records, right now they have released six studio albums and are going strong. Mixing together house, R&B and hip-hop sounds, these guys in their mid-thirties present funky and youthful vibe.

For the past three years, the music world has been all about some indie vibe here and there and banjo playing in the background. Sso it safe to say that everyone had kind of forgotten about the possibility of enjoying good old alternative dance synthpop.

At first look it may seem like Hot Chip members are just like any other hipster band, but the truth is: they are so much more! Everyone of them has that charisma that you can not fake. They entered Positivus stage and looked like a throwback from an excellent American 80’s TV show. So smooth, so confident, so wonderfully weird. Everyone who had always wished to live in the 80’s, this was your chance. Hot Chip has that unclear first impression feeling, but as you get in deeper and deeper in their sound, it is obvious that even that seemingly chaotic thread is professionally worked out till the last detail.

Hot Chip was so hot, that even all of those people who say that they don’t ever dance – danced. Everyone danced so hard that it actually looked like a dancing zombie apocalypse. Positivus has never seen such happiness gathered in one place at once.
