Recensie Years and Years

Years

British electronica trio Years and Years consists of three wonderful musicians – frontman Olly Alexander, bass guitar player Mikey Goldsworthy and on keyboards/beats Emre Turkmen. They have been sharing their music with the world since 2010 and Positivus for sure hopes that this is not the last time they visit Latvia.

Well one thing is sure – frontman Olly Alexander can not only sing, but dance too. That’s why it is not a surprise that all the teenage girls at Positivus festival went crazy for their performance with its funky sound – electropop mixed with R&B and 1990’s house music elements - but we can all agree that not only teenage girls went crazy, but everyone, who was there, has found a new guilty pleasure to listen to. Let’s face it: the music is great and all the band members are handsome.

On Positivus stage Years and Years showed their elegant swag, but they also got these sick gracious moves that everyone absolutely loved. The music band made it very clear to everyone at Positivus that they truly love performing in Latvia for the first time Who doesn’t love it when you can actually see an honest spark and happiness in someone’s eyes? Also, it was wonderful to find out that lead singer Olly had his birthday on the day they performed, so not only Years and Years gave the best present to everyone who was at Positivus festival at its 10th anniversary, but Positivus also gave a great gift to him. Happy birthday to Olly!
