Recensie Joss Stone

The second day of Positivus festival was as sunny as Joss Stone’s performance. The young and beautiful 29 year old singer from England accompanied Positivus with her R&B/blue-eyed soul/reggae songs. Stone’s childhood music influences were 1960’s and 1970’s American R&B and soul music performed by artists like Dusty Springfield. So as a result she developed into the beautiful and soulful style singer that everyone can listen to today.

The moment Stone started to sing, an instant question came to mind – how can such a graceful looking singer have the vocal range of a mezzo-soprano and contralto? Her powerful voice took over the entire Positivus festival. Next question that came into mind was – how can that angel looking artist sing reggae songs with such swag? It is truly a combination of pure talent, great communication skills and knowing how to own your performance with confidence.

Everyone who was there for sure enjoyed Joss Stone’s humble performance, which was a great way to begin this very sunny and hot second day of Positivus.
