This autumn Placebo has delivered a gift to their fans by releasing the retrospective album ’A Place for Us to Dream’ underElevator Lady Ltd. marking 20 years from the release of their self-titled debut album and now being on a complementary tour ’20 Years of Placebo’.

Right before the show started everyone had a chance to see the unreleased promo video for ‘Every You Every Me’ archived since 1998 and unveiled only this October.

Brought to Riga by L Tips Agency, they approached the audience loud with ‘Pure Morning’ that hasn’t been on their setlist for quite a while. According to Brian Molko ‘we are a strange band in that we don’t like our commercially successful material so we don’t play it live’.

We got to hear some of the new songs as well as ‘Every You, Every Me’ , ‘Running up That Hill’ , ‘Infra-Red’, ’20 years’, ‘For What It’s Worth’ and others, including ‘Without You I’m Nothing’ with David Bowie looking at us from the screens and from above. Ending the performance with ‘Song to Say Goodbye’ turned into 2 encores and the feeling in the air was full of will for this to continue forever.

This tour with songs that fans really like to hear is a unique opportunity to travel through time being lead by Brian Molko’s voice and brings up a magical feeling.
